The project promotes the exchange of experiences in the integration effort among 10 partners, the selection of Best Practices at local/regional level and the development of a multilingual portal

The Integration Exchange project is coordinated by the QeC-Eran international network, of which FMD is proud to be a partner. Funded under Europe’s Inti program, the project’s objective is the exchange of experience and the selection of Best Practices and the development in general of a local/regional dimension for the implementation of the basic principles adopted by the Justice and Home Affairs Council in November 2004 and contained in Section A of the European Commission’s Agenda in 2005.

The project envisions an exchange of experience in the integration effort among 10 partners:

The activities to be performed include:
  • Selecting and developing Best Practices in regard to their local and regional programs;
  • Developing a local platform of services, information, and resources for integration;
  • Creating 8 Local Action groups (Lags) as the vehicles for grouping at local/regional/national level the experiences that will be the subject of peer review and the “capital” for the development of the workshops;
  • Creating an online platform with portal functions for the dissemination of local services, information, and resources;
  • Implementing Best Practices with resources and links to be grouped for the creation of the case studies to be disseminated.

The Inti project was launched in August 2007 and reached completion in August 2008. FMD was in charge of the following activities:
  • the constitution of a Local Action Group, and more specifically, the one that provided the Best Practices for the integration of immigrants in the Rome area;
  • the publication of the Local Mapping Report for the project entitled “Employment and Induction Programmes” focused on the Italian context and the Rome area in particular;
  • the creation of an online platform with portal functions for the dissemination of local services, information, and resources;
  • the participation in international Peer Reviews.
