After the Recycling Lab experience at the Itis Armellini School, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale has organised a new activity for the asylum seekers and refugees of the multi-functional Centro Enea. The Centro Enea for secondary reception was created by the Municipality of Rome together with the Italian Ministry of the Interior.

The objective is to allow these individuals to learn about the city and its cultural and social dimensions. Once again, it is one of the schools of Rome that stands in the spotlight for the excellence of its educational proposals.

Next Friday, November 21 at 2:00 pm, 40 boys and girls participating in the multimedia activities and computer courses promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale at the Centro Enea will be accompanied by the students of the istituto tecnico industriale Einstein on an unforgettable journey, a real and virtual trip into the history of the Capital of reception.

The objective of the “Ideal City” Project is to make students more aware about the city in which they live. In order to actively enjoy the urban space around them, the students analyse the relation between urbanity and society, territory and community, ideal city and real city, starting from the historical sources and making use of the most advanced tri-dimensional animation techniques.

This multi-disciplinary approach continues to capture the interest of all the students who attend the school, who were born in Rome or are out to discover their new home after a long migratory route.

The challenge is to capture the interest of the 40 guests of the Centro Enea, from different countries, who are all looking for a true city of peace in which to live out their life anew.

The Ideal City is a part of the Sound and Image Project.During the meeting, the 2009 edition of the project will be presented which also includes the creation of an ad showcasing the importance of water for the Digital Bridge Project, an e-inclusion initiative for the Saharawi People.
