Ambizione Italia for Cybersecurity

Event at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome: Hacker vs Hacker Challenge

On February 27, at 11 am, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Microsoft Italia, in partnership with  the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, will present Ambizione Italia for Cybersecurity.

The project promotes a new alliance for work and a training programme focused on digital skills for employment in the field of cybersecurity. The initiative, which involves a large number of stakeholders (companies, public bodies, non-profit organizations, schools, universities, and other tertiary education institutions), aims to address a not very reassuring Italian situation. In fact, almost 4 out of 10 Italians are indifferent or do not protect themselves from cyberattacks, and only 1 out of 4 has a clear idea of what cybersecurity is (Censis-DeepCyber Report, April 2022). To present the project activities and promote the culture of safety as a social investment of collective interest, the project partners will meet with youth, the press, and citizens.

The event will also feature the final challenge of the "Hacker versus Hacker" training course, which involved 600 high school students from universities in Lazio and Rome. The 70 finalists will compete in the implementation of some simple, but effective, cyberattacks, to learn how to defend themselves. The course was conceived and implemented with Professor Roberto Setola, Delegate of the Degree Programme in Industrial Engineering, Scientific Director of the II Level University Master's Degree in  Homeland Security: Systems, Methods, and Tools for Security and Management” and Director of the Laboratory of Complex Systems and Security.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale addresses the issue of cybersecurity in Europe with the Project Trust aWare  which addresses issues related to network security, providing tools that can be used by all citizens, to protect freedom, security and privacy, and favouring the positioning on the European market of secure software.
