Until 25 September, families in Rome can apply for the grant for the 2026–2027 school year. The digital support service will also resume at municipal registry offices from 1 September
The call for applications from Roma Capitale for the 2026–2027 Book Vouchers is now online. This grant is intended for pupils at lower and upper secondary schools – both state and state-recognised – and those on vocational education and training (IeFP) courses. Applications may be submitted until 12 noon on 25 September 2026. Families resident in Rome with a valid ISEE not exceeding 15,493.71 euros are eligible for this grant. For the new academic year, the grant amounts to 230 euros for first-year pupils in lower secondary school and for first- and third-year pupils in upper secondary school; for all other year groups, the amount is 175 euros. The voucher can be used to purchase not only print and digital textbooks, but also dictionaries, fiction books recommended by schools, software and other educational tools, including laptops and tablets. Once again this year, Roma Capitale has confirmed that the grant can be used directly at accredited retailers, without families having to pay upfront and then wait for a refund.
Help with submitting the application
Applications must be submitted online via Roma Capitale’s ‘Digital Book Voucher Application’ service. To ensure this opportunity is truly accessible even to those who face greater difficulties in using digital services, the administration has set up a network of support across the city. Among the services available are the digital facilitators from the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, who are based in municipal registry offices. Following the summer break, the service resumes on Tuesday 1 September, from Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 1 pm, in accordance with the schedule set out for the various boroughs. The facilitators provide free assistance to citizens in accessing and using the public administration’s online services and can also offer support in completing the application for the book voucher. The digital support service, promoted by Roma Capitale and delivered by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale through Zètema, will continue throughout 2026 at municipal registry offices. It is a community-based initiative designed to guide people in the use of digital identity, online procedures and key digital public services. To receive assistance in completing the application, you may also contact the Municipal Public Relations Offices, the Social Secretariats and Municipal One-Stop Shops, the Migrant Schools Network and the other local services listed in the notice. For students who find themselves in particularly vulnerable circumstances or facing housing difficulties and who do not have a registered residence and/or an ISEE certificate, specific support arrangements are available through Rome’s social services and accredited third-sector organisations.
