Building Robocrocs

The  Phyrtual Innovation Gym Robotics Centre allows primary school children to work together, integrating mechanical, electronic and computer skills.

Today, the Robotics Centre will welcome children from three classes at two Roman schools: Via dei Consoli and Via Nitti.

The youngest students will learn to build and programme a “robocroc,” a robot that looks like a crocodile and that opens its mouth threateningly. In fact, the children do not only build the animal, but also programme its movements.

The older students will work with the Lego NXT Kit, a system based on a smart brick and with over 500 components.

The labs are held by two young engineers: Valentina Gelsomini and Mohamed Haiba.
