The Facebook page of Project "Class Collection" now includes a video from the Fondazione Mondo Digitale for participating students.
“Class Collection” is an initiative promoted by IIS Piaget-Diaz in Rome in order to test a replicable process of creative regeneration addressing the urban and socio-cultural spheres of the involved neighbourhoods. The reference point are schools, which act as cultural and social hubs open to all citizens. The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is a project partner and, in recent months, has hosted participants working on items to improve their schools at the Fab Lab. The digital manufacturing lab has been dedicated to rapid prototyping, 3D printing and laser cutting activities with an eye on the creative and artistic recycling of waste materials and the discovery of new jobs connected to digital craftsmanship.
The Coordinator of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale Fab Lab, Matteo Viscogliosi, followed four classes, each of which worked on a different hand-made project: a bench, a place to meet and share experiences, that entertains its “guests” with pleasing, original sounds; a modular cabinet with sound plants; a book on the concept of happiness and diversity and 3D-printed words from song lyrics that can be shared in school corridors.
Matteo Viscogliosi’s video on the original ideas concocted with creativity and digital fabrication.
