Today (Monday, Oct. 2), the Digital Heart Award will be held at the Palazzo Giustiniani (Sala Zuccari) with the patronage of the Italian Senate. The President of the Senate, Pietro Grasso, and various other institutional personalities will be present. The theme of the award is “Life Science, Technology that Cares for Individuals, as recounted by Women” [see programme].

 

The Digital Heart Award is a symbolic prize, created in 2015 by the Roman non-profit “Cuore Digitale” Association, which is presented to Italian start-ups, researchers and makers who have distinguished themselves in the development of socially-oriented technological solutions.

 

Five Italian start-ups are candidates for the third edition of the award in the following areas: oncology (Endo-Sight), hearing impairment (IntendiMe), strokes (Neuron Guard), Parkinson’s Disease (PD-Watch) e autism (Robomate).

 

Following a round table on “The Value of Human-Machine Interaction – Technological Aids, a jury quality composed of institutional personalities, enterprise, leading ICT companies, trade associations, research and media will select the winning start-up. The Fondazione Mondo Digitale will be represented by Cecilia Stajano, School Innovation Coordinator.
