Next Tuesday, 30 June, the first free course at the Doposcuola Popolare
The first free digital literacy course, promoted by the Department for Schools, Training and Employment of Roma Capitale and organised by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale ETS in collaboration with the Polo Civico Quarticciolo, is set to begin in Quarticciolo.
The session will take place on Tuesday 30 June at 4.30 pm at the Doposcuola Popolare in Quarticciolo, at 7 Via Ostuni. The initiative forms part of the Roma Capitale Digital Facilitation Centres programme, supported by the Fund for the Digital Republic through the Roma Capitale Digitale project.
The course is aimed at citizens who wish to strengthen their basic digital skills and use the public administration’s online services with greater independence. During the session, participants will be able to familiarise themselves with tools such as SPID, the electronic identity card and the IO app, using their own smartphones.
This event marks the first training initiative launched following the inauguration of the new Career Guidance Centre in Quarticciolo, established as a local hub to identify people’s needs and provide practical solutions within the community.
“This course perfectly embodies our vision for Career Guidance Centres: places that are close to people, open, accessible and capable of supporting citizens as they face the challenges of daily life,” says Claudia Pratelli, Councillor for Education, Training and Employment at Roma Capitale. “The need for support with digital skills emerged very clearly during the preparatory meetings leading up to the centre’s opening. That is why we decided to start right here, with a specific request from the local community.”
For Pratelli, “the digital divide is one of the new forms of inequality of our time. Today, not knowing how to use digital tools can mean facing obstacles in accessing services, opportunities and even the exercise of one’s rights. Tackling this divide means investing in autonomy, inclusion and active citizenship”.
Participation is free of charge, with online registration.
