Officially, it’s a management committee, but in reality they need to be continuously present and alert to understand the local needs (makers, craftsmen, students, professionals, teachers, etc.) and propose efficient solutions.
The Management Committee of the first Roman Fab Lab, modeled on the MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms, are makers with a range of different professional competences:
• Luca Bernacchia, mechanical engineer, virtual reality enthusiast
• Marco Contini, media art and social innovation entrepreneur
• Luca Frogheri, maker and web designer
• Ferdinando Miraglia, (especially) father of a ten-year old Robotics enthusiast
• Riccardo Spurio, Mechanical expert with a penchant for numerical control devices and mechanical tools
Moreover, two other FMD collaborators - Mohamed Gaber Haiba (electronic engineer) and Francesca del Duca (communications), - also participate in the committee’s activities to help with logistics.
Laboratories begin again in September.
