Female Talent

Just a few days after the conclusion of Pink Cloud, we received an unexpected and fantastic letter from Concetta Senese, Headmaster of the Liceo scientifico e linguistico di Ceccano, in the Province of Frosinone, who accompanied her female students to the event in Milan (May 19-21).

“Over the three days, my students had the opportunity to acquire a better understanding of their role in society, to express their full potential and believe in themselves. Each has specific talents. It was an important occasion to overcome stereotypes and contribute with new and original input. I saw my students regenerated, maybe a little scared, but certainly more determined,” writes the Headmaster.

The initiative promoted by Microsoft to bridge the gender divide in science, technology and research attracted 22 young female students from Ceccano, accompanied by their teacher Alessia Savo and Headmaster Concetta Senese.

“I feel that I should express my profound gratitude to the Fondazione Mondo Digitale that allowed us to participate in this event and that has always been at the forefront in promoting the technical and scientific education of young women through a variety of initiatives, ranging from “Meet No Neet” to “The Italian Makers.” And it is a winning choice, as is also demonstrated by all the projects with schools dedicated to training young men and women, promoting their placement on the job market and promoting female talent,” explains the Headmaster.

Francesca Micheli in class IV F writes about Pink Cloud on the school blog: What colour is the world? What colour are you?

However, in reality, we are the ones that must thank Headmaster Senese and all the people like her that, day in and day out, work with enthusiasm and passion to improve school and society.
