GEM Conference

On June 11-2, the Dublin Institute of Education will host the GEM Conference 2020 on gender equality. The objective of event, organised by European Project Gender Equality Matters, is to bring together researchers, university students, health workers, policy makers, NGOs and the educational community to debate stereotypes, bullying and gender violence, and promote an exchange of experiences.

The conference will include a round table with the following experts:

  • Prof. Kathleen Lynch, Professor of Equality Studies, UCD
  • Prof. James O 'Higgins-Norman, UNESCO Chair on Tackling Bullying in Schools and Cyberspace
  • Dr. Anne Looney, Executive Dean of the Institute of Education, DCU
  • Mr. Peter Dankmeijer, Director, EduDivers and GALE

 

Interested parties may participate in the conference with research, innovative practices, communications (posters), interactive labs and personal experiences.  Proposal abstracts must be submitted by March 20, 2020.

Registration to the conference as a speaker or participant is free.  The event is funded by the EU Rights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) Programme and is part of a collaborative research project with DCU (Ireland), FMD (Italy), KMOP (Greece), University of Murcia (Spain) and ESHA (Netherlands).
