Immersive Technology

Next Tuesday, June 13 (10 am – 2 pm), Artist Chiara Passa will host a lab on immersive technology as part of the Roma Est Digital Fest, which will involve young men and women, aged 18-27, in courses on the conception and production of digital content.

The Immersive Technology Lab is one of five free workshops (photography, video-making, storytelling, acting, technology) planned by the first project phase.

Roma Est Digital Fest is a project financed by the Italian Authors and Editors Association (SIAE) with the “Sillumina – Copia privata per i giovani, per la cultura” Call and developed in partnership with four local organisations working on digital issues: D.V.I.99, ArtChivio, Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Mammanannapappacacca.

Who is Chiara Passa?

Chiara is a visual artist who graduated from the Rome Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma with a Masters in “New Audiovisual Media” at the Faculty of Modern Letters. Her artistic research is based on the combination of a range of media types and platforms that analyse the changes in “liquid space” through a variety of techniques, technology and devices, often using augmented and virtual reality. She works with animation and interactive video-installation techniques, inserts digital art in public spaces (as in site-specific and video-mapping installations), develops video-sculptures and video-objects, apps and artistic widgets. Chiara explores the potential provided by computer coding languages to fully and rigorously express creative opportunities provided by new media. She has received many awards, including the E-Content Award (2012). Since 1997, her works have been exhibited internationally at galleries, festivals, conferences and institutions.
