Innovation is a familiar word at the Liceo scientifico Domenico Cassini in Genoa, which hosts a course for Project Grandparents On-line. Everyone’s Young at the Post Office.

Enzo and Giampiero, respectively 68 and 65 years old, retired recently. They left the shipyards and returned to school. In fact, they are two of the over-65s attending the Liceo Scientifico Cassini in Genoa to learn how to virtually surf the waves of information available on the web thanks to Project Grandparents On-line. Everyone’s Young at the Post Office.

The students at the school, who are true innovators, will guide the grandparents throughout this adventure. “Our students look far ahead,” explains Headmaster Daniela Cambiaso. “Even alone, they manage to develop skills and develop their interests into extra-curricular activities.”

And there is no lack of opportunities for new ideas and innovation at the school. Besides normal curricular activities, the school provides a series of special courses on theatre, astronomy and programming, amongst many others. However, even innovation needs to solidly anchored in tradition. That’s why the students enjoy working side by side with the elders, who teach them to look at the future by knowing the past.
