Project Openness continues as part of the “Pilot Experiences on Openess and Digital Culture” Programme held in schools in Umbria in collaboration with the Umbria Regional Schools Department.
Once again, coaches from the Fondazione Mondo Digitale are involved in educational activities in the schools of Orvieto and Terni. Coach Riccardo D’Aquino, who has successfully competed in international competitions, will address problem-solving and robotics activities, while Roberto Dessì will hold a coding course for teachers. The objective of Project Openness is to promote learning through the conscious use of new technology.
Another “on the road” lab will be held by artist Giacomo Lion at the Istituto S. Orsola in Rome, as part of the BNL Media Art Festival (see news The Creative Process).
The Phyrtual Innovation Gym is buzzing with activity: from MOS Certification Exams, coordinated by Valentina Gelsomini, to school-work programmes. Didactic appointments for the Media Art Lab continue with Valentino Catricalà and Fiammetta Castagnini. Today, a class at the Istituto comprensivo Aristide Leonori in Rome and Prof Lorella Pepe will be introduced to media art.
The Immersive Lab with Coach Domenico Zungri and the Video Lab with Coach Paola De Marco will host two classes from the Istituto comprensivo Parco degli Acquedotti, coordinated by Prof Emilia Sera.
The Robotics Centre will be attended by students from the Liceo Vito Volterra in Ciampino, who are busy deciding how to pursue their educational careers. The Nao humanoid robot and coaches from Sapienza University in Rome, will try to attract the students to scientific disciplines. The class is accompanied by Prof Massimo Pescatori.
In the afternoon, the school-work programme continues with 24 students from years 4 and 5 at the Maffeo Pantaleoni School in Frascati (see news Sketching the Future) with Coach Paola De Marco.
