The Phyrtual Innovation Gym Fab Lab presents the first collection of furnishings for schools at the Rome Maker Faire (Oct. 14-16) [see news DIY School] along with 10 other projects, both individual and collective, developed in the digital manufacturing lab at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale (FMD).

The programme put together by the FMD also includes 7 labs on robotics, coding and making, for a total of 14 appointments in the Kids Area, exhibitions with the Robocup Junior World Champions, last generation prototypes ranging from domotics to artificial intelligence developed by students throughout Italy that will participate in RomeCup 2017, and ability competitions with invented machines and cars that only operate through team work. As part of the "Maker Faire Corto Circuito," we will present the experience of the Immersive Lab in the panel on "A Lesson on Augmented Reality" [see news FMD at the Maker Faire].

The FMD stand in the Kids Area will present all the new labs at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym: from “Young Makers Grow” to teach children to create 3D objects to Modelling with Fusion 360. (For further information: www.innovationgym.org).

The FMD will also present its young team of digital ambassadors for Project Make Learn Share Europe. They are the spokespersons for the European eSkillsforJobs Campaign and Programme Future ReCoded, financed by Microsoft YouthSpark and Fondazione Cariplo, and coordinated by Fondazione Filarete, to promote technological and digital skills amongst young men and women.

Tomorrow, Europe Code Week kicks off with FMD Project Simple Future, organised in collaboration with the Roma Capitale Roma Semplice Council and the support of Google. Coding labs for all ages will be held in the Kids Area of the Maker Faire and continue throughout the week at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym. Next Tuesday, October 18, the Simply Rome Hackathon will be inaugurated by Flavia Marzano, Roma Semplice Councillor.
