Prodigy: young people and businesses on the path to employment

Meetings continue in Naples and Reggio Calabria

Preparing for the world of work also means creating concrete opportunities for those seeking opportunities to meet those who can offer them. With the European project PRODiGY – PROmoting Digital and Green Skills for Youth, the training and guidance programme dedicated to young people enters the phase closest to the job market, with local events focusing on mock interviews, digital and green skills, career guidance and direct dialogue with companies.

Following the activities already held in Palermo, at the Hub Rete, on 16, 20 and 21 April, and the first meetings in Reggio Calabria, on 8 and 9 May at the Agape Community Centre, the project continues with two new events: Wednesday 14 May in Naples, at the Casa della Musica, 9 Via Corrado Sersale, and Thursday 15 May in Reggio Calabria, again at the Agape Community Centre, 21H Via Paolo Pellicano. Both events are scheduled from 2.30 pm to 5 pm.

During the activities, participants can put themselves to the test with mock interviews, guidance sessions and discussions with professionals, career coaches and company representatives. The programme focuses on digital and green skills, soft skills, presentation skills and tools to navigate the ever-changing job market with greater autonomy.

For companies, these events represent an opportunity to meet trained young people, share experiences, discover new talent and contribute to the growth of the local area. For young people, they serve as a practical workshop to strengthen awareness, confidence and the ability to showcase their potential.

“We work to provide young people with up-to-date technical tools, so they can navigate the ever-changing job market with confidence, placing great emphasis on awareness of their own soft skills,” explains Francesca Lisi, career coach at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

Building local networks is one of the project’s central elements. “The ongoing development of relationships with local businesses is the cornerstone of our work,” emphasises Giulia Melissari, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale’s focal point in Reggio Calabria. “We work every day to transform the local network into an ecosystem of real opportunities for young people.”

“Through bespoke training programmes, individual coaching and the involvement of businesses, PRODiGY reaffirms its commitment to supporting the younger generation,” concludes Annaleda Mazzucato, project manager at Fondazione Mondo Digitale. “The aim is to leave behind a more aware young population and a more cohesive network, capable of generating new prospects for inclusion and employment.”
