Roma Est Digital Fest

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is ready for a new project dedicated to young men and women: REDFest (Roma Est Digital Fest).

Roma Est Digital Fest is financed by the Italian Association of Authors and Editors (SIAE) through the “Sillumina – Copia privata per i giovani, per la cultura” Call. The project is developed in partnership with four active organisations working on new technology in Rome: D.V.I.99, ArtChivio, Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Mammanannapappacacca.

The initiative, which target young people aged 18-27, aims to educate young citizens on various aspects concerning the conception and development of digital content. The final objective is to exploit the creativity and artistic talent of young men and women in an urban context (Rome’s eastern suburbs) that does not always promote talent and creativity.

Participants will be selected for the first project phase through a call and interview.

Phase 1 – Five free workshops will be held on issue related to a range of creative areas: photography, video making, storytelling, acting, and immersive technology. The workshops with sector experts (Alessandro Abate, Ascanio Celestini, Cristian Ceresoli, Adriano Cosi, Silvia Gallerano, Claudia Giovannesi, Pippo Onorati, Chiara Passa, Federico Palmieri, Claudio Palmisano) will be held in Rome (Via del Mandrione and Via del Quadraro.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale will hold a workshop on immersive technology with Emanuele Tarducci and Chiara Passa.

Phase 2 – Participants form creative teams to compete in the Contest Roma Est Digital Fest by creating digital content addressing Rome’s eastern suburbs. A jury of experts will evaluate the projects and proclaim the winners, who will receive a monetary award in four categories: best video project, best photo project, best multimedia project and Web Award.

OBJECTIVES

  • Promote the creative and artistic use of technology by young men and women
  • Exploit the artistic talent and creativity of young men and women living in Rome’s suburbs
  • Promote social inclusion through digital creativity
  • Introduce young men and women to holistic education through the arts
  • Address social exclusion in the urban context through arts and culture

The initiative will be presented on June 1, 2017 (6 pm) at Via del Mandrione 105.
