The third leg of the educational relay organized by Programme Future ReCoded was held in the Municipality of Oria, in the Province of Brindisi, last Tuesday, as part of the Europe Code Week.
Thirty-six students from the Liceo V. Lilla (coordinated by Prof Domenico Aprile - @MimmoAprile) participated in the session held by Coach Vito Lucatorto, MSP Team Leader.
"We held the event in the school gym,” explains Vito Lucatorto, "and organized 11-12 stations with 3 students and a laptop for a total of 36 students."
In three hours of team work, the students enthusiastically worked on a number of issues," Luca added.
Here is the work programme with the coach’s comments:
- Introduction to Azure (We showed them how it works, its advantages and how easy to use it is.)
- LAB: Introduction to Html and CSS (We explained how to use HTML and CSS to create a static website.)
- Introduction to Wordpress (Using Azure, we explained how to use Wordpress and how easy it is to create and modify pages.)
- LAB: Xaamp Installation for hosting sites locally (We explained how it works , what Xaamp is and how to use it.)[The professor was surprised and pleased that this fifth year concept was introduced.]
- Introduction to PHP and PHPmyadmin (It was the last session and the students were tired, so we agreed with the professor just to introduce the basics and how to create a dynamic website.).
