Tech Training

Four pages, four interviews, four points of view: Media 2000 presents the Phyrtual Innovation Gym where the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Google train young men and women for high tech professions.

The first interview is with Director General Mirta Michilli who explains what happens at the Gym day in and day out and why the FMD attracted Google’s attention.

The second interview is with Scientific Director Alfonso Molina, who explains the educational activities held at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym: “We provide an experience.” Prof Molina developed the Life Education Model that underpins all activities at the gym.

“We make sure everyone can find what they are looking for,” adds Mauro Del Santo, designer and professor at the Istituto europeo di design and Fab Lab Coach. He explains that “shifting from the virtual landscape of computers to the real landscape of machinery” is not as easy as it sounds for young men and women.

The fourth point of view is provided by Claudio Cristini, who is studying Architecture and is enthusiastic about his experience at the Fab Lab: “You study, develop and create a project, right there. It’s incredibly satisfying!”
