True or False: Do You Know?

Do we know how to recognise fake news? Which criteria can help us identify reliable sources?

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is conducting a study on the state of the art of digital literacy and new media education amongst adolescents and adults in Italy, with particular focus on the phenomenon of fake news.

The study is part of Project Enjoy the Internet Fully, promoted by Google to help teachers, students and parents to enjoy the web and technology safely and responsibly.

The results of the study will allow us to develop a new educational module to strengthen digital competences and critical thinking, amongst adolescents and adults, in order to contrast the diffusion and impact of fake news.

This is why we need your help!

Click here to access the questionnaire dedicated to adults (20 years old and up) and help us collect information by May 27. It just takes five minutes!

There also is a questionnaire for adolescents (14–19). Can you help us collect information by sharing it with your class and, if possible, with other students at your school? A better understanding will help us determine the educational needs of young men and women who, although digital natives, do not have all the adequate tools and knowledge to safely and responsibly enjoy the Internet.

The questionnaire for adolescents is available at this link.

Information is collected anonymously for both questionnaires.

It will be our pleasure to include your school amongst those mentioned in the final thanks for collaborating and helping us to conduct the study.

Thanks for all the help!
