The RomeCup 2025 in the press

Alfonso Molina's point of view in Avvenire and the role of Roma Tre in Il Messaggero

We would like to highlight two recent articles dedicated to the RomeCup 2025, published in the daily newspapers Avvenire and Il Messaggero, which offer a complementary view of the educational and institutional vision of the event promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

In Avvenire, Alfonso Molina, Scientific Director of the Foundation, reflects on the cultural and moral legacy of Pope Francis, highlighting how technology must be oriented towards the common good, social justice and inclusion. RomeCup thus becomes a context in which to educate young people not only in technical skills, but also in discernment and responsibility: ‘technology can become a social accelerator, capable of building bridges rather than walls’.

Il Messaggero, on the other hand, dedicates an in-depth article to the role of Roma Tre University, which is hosting the first two days of the event. The director of the Department of Industrial, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, Salvatore Sciuto, emphasises the importance of the event for the orientation of young people and for dialogue between universities, the local area and businesses. ‘The novelty this year is that we will be talking about the challenges of holistic well-being and the new frontiers of AI,’ explains the professor. ‘We will go beyond simple robotics to understand how new technologies can truly support humanity and help people.’

With over 4,000 participants expected, dozens of competitions, prototypes and meetings, RomeCup 2025 confirms its status as the largest Italian event dedicated to young people, robotics and artificial intelligence.
