A webinar on AI and the future of our society
How is artificial intelligence transforming the way we live, work and make decisions? What impact do algorithms, data and platforms have on society, information and democratic processes?
These questions will be addressed in the second webinar of the series “Beyond the algorithm”, promoted by Sapienza University of Rome in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and GRID+, scheduled for Tuesday 11 February 2026, from 5 to 6.30 p.m..
The meeting, entitled “Beyond the Algorithm: AI and the Future of Our Society”, is designed for a broad, non-specialist audience and offers an accessible but rigorous interpretation of the transformations taking place, intertwining technological dimensions and social implications.
A comparison between research and society
The webinar explores how artificial intelligence algorithms work and their impact on everyday life, focusing on how data, models and platforms influence information, work and decision-making processes. Understanding these mechanisms is now a key step in promoting a more conscious use of AI and strengthening citizens' digital skills.
Speakers:
- Massimo Panella, Director of the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications at Sapienza University;
- Raffaele Parisi, Professor in the same Department;
- Antonello Rosato, Researcher in the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications.
A Third Mission and digital citizenship initiative
The Beyond the Algorithm cycle is part of the activities of Sapienza's Third Mission and is part of the Digital Facilitation Centres project, promoted by the Strategic Planning and PNRR Department of Roma Capitale.
The Digital Facilitation Centres were created with the aim of strengthening the digital skills of the population, facilitating access to services and promoting active and informed digital citizenship.
