Free support to help you use online public services and become more digitally independent

Following the summer break, the digital support service resumes today, 1 September, at Rome’s municipal registry offices. From Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 1 pm, in accordance with the schedule set out for each municipal district, residents can once again turn to the facilitators from the Fondazione Mondo Digitale free of charge for support in accessing and using online services.

The service, promoted by Roma Capitale and delivered by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale through Zètema, will continue throughout 2026 with the aim of making the digital transformation more accessible and inclusive. It is not simply a matter of ‘completing a form’ on the citizen’s behalf. Digital support is, above all, a process of guidance: the facilitator helps the individual to understand the steps involved, use the tools and gradually gain greater independence.

What can you do with the help of a facilitator?

Needs can vary greatly: accessing public administration services, using digital identity, completing an online application, consulting a platform, downloading a document or learning to use smartphones and digital services with greater confidence.

In recent weeks, for example, facilitators have also been able to offer support to families who need to submit the application for the 2026–2027 Book Vouchers online, which is open until 12 noon on 25 September.

However, the service is aimed at all citizens, regardless of age or level of digital literacy. Even a seemingly simple problem can become an opportunity to learn something new and tackle the next procedure with greater confidence.

A community-based service

The presence of facilitators in municipal offices makes it possible to identify digital needs precisely in the places where people most frequently come into contact with the public administration. It is a community-based service that seeks to turn every request for assistance into a learning opportunity: because being able to use a digital service independently also means being able to exercise one’s rights as a citizen more easily.

From 1 September, the facilitators will once again be available to members of the public at municipal registry offices.
