October 30 is the deadline for registering your project with the GJC, the biennial contest that celebrates the strategic role of new technology in the promotion of knowledge, intercultural cooperation, the fight against educational poverty and the reduction of the social divide and to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Objectives (SDGs). The ninth edition of the Global Junior Challenge is promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with the Centro Studi Erickson and is dedicated to Objective 4 of the Agenda 2030: quality education for all.

The GJC has two sessions:

  • The “Tullio De Mauro” Award for Innovative and Inclusive Schools – for teachers and administrators of Italian schools. The “Tullio De Mauro” Award is presented in recognition to an innovating teacher who has brought together quality education, making it fair and inclusive, also through the use of innovative technology, tools and methodologies. It is presented to innovating administrators who have profoundly changed their school system through the implementation of projects run in coordination with the local and educational community. During the final event of the GJC, finalist administrators participate in a collective development session, using the Lego® Serious Play® Methodology, to create a shared vision of quality education and a manifesto to share with society and policy makers.
  • GJC 2019 – Quality Education for All – addresses public and private institutions, cooperatives and social associations, enterprises and individual citizens who wish to submit an ongoing or just ended project in a range of categories based on target age.

The final event, which will be held in Rome on December 11-13, 2019, will include an exhibition of finalist projects with conferences, workshops and activities for students and teachers.
