Fondazione Mondo Digitale brings students to the stage
Today and tomorrow, at the Triennale di Milano, The Economy of the Future returns, the Corriere della Sera event dedicated to companies that are rethinking their strategies, development models and responsibilities in a sustainable way. The ninth edition focuses on “Words to Understand”, a narrative journey that combines corporate best practices with concepts such as water, food, works, cities, energy and connections: new ways of thinking to imagine competitive, innovative businesses capable of generating value for the planet and communities.
Students take centre stage
New this year is the direct involvement of schools: tomorrow, the audience will include over one hundred students from the Severi Correnti, Carducci and Schiaparelli-Gramsci high schools. Eight of them will take to the stage to talk with representatives from the industrial, academic and institutional worlds in an open discussion on sustainability, the future of growth and the responsibilities of the younger generations.
The space dedicated to students has been curated and organised by Cecilia Stajano for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, which has always been committed to promoting a culture of innovation and a new knowledge economy as a driver of development for the country. This is a concrete opportunity to bring young people closer to global issues and to foster dialogue between schools, businesses and institutions.
The students will talk with:
- Paolo Barilla, President of Unione Italiana Food
- Riccardo Luna, columnist for Corriere
- Gianmario Verona, Professor of Innovation Management, Bocconi University
- Daniela Bernacchi, Executive Director of the UN Global Network in Italy
This will be followed by a stage discussion with the leaders of some of the companies most committed to sustainable transformation - from Prada to illycaffè, from Polo del Gusto to Andriani - together with the rector of IULM University, Valentina Garavaglia, researchers, economists and sustainability experts such as Mariasole Bianco, Mauro Giacca, Francesco Giavazzi, Mario Calderini and Partha Dasgupta, author of Natural Capital.
The two-day event will close with an excerpt from the play Alieni in laguna (Aliens in the Lagoon) by Andrea Pennacchi, dedicated to the relationship between human beings and what has made them “alien” to themselves: nature, animals and the environment.
Through its role in organising a space for dialogue between students, journalists, entrepreneurs and teachers, Fondazione Mondo Digitale confirms its commitment to building educational and cultural alliances that support sustainable, responsible and future-oriented growth.
