“Our School” Professors at Sfide

First public appearance after the pandemic. Cecilia Stajano’s interviews.

At the Milan Sfide – Everyone’s School  (March 24-26, 2023), Claudia De Crescenzo and Kim Commisso, “Our School” Professors, organised a lab dedicated to inclusive and innovative digital teaching. The event took place in Milan, in the spaces of “Fa’ la cosa giusta!,” the national fair of critical consumption and sustainable lifestyles.

Participants were involved in an active experimentation simulating the experience of “Our School” Professors: a context to facilitate experimentation with good practices for incremental innovation for inclusive teaching with digital technologies. Starting with the “Come from Afar” course published in the volume entitled Laboratories of Integrated Digital Citizenship and Sustainability  (Erickson, 2022), the lab developed the theme of digital citizenship, focusing on interdisciplinarity and verticality as a working method.

"Our participation in the fair was really very exciting," explains Cecilia Stajano, Community Manager at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, "because our professors made their first public appearance since the pandemic. ‘Our School’ fully interprets the concept of phyrtuality, a community that has grown remotely, during the pandemic, and that has become tangible at the first opportunity, ready to expand and enrich itself through new challenges." In the proposed workshop, the two teachers, Claudia De Crescenzo and Kim Commisso, Starting with the “Come from Afar” course published in the volume entitled Laboratories of Integrated Digital Citizenship and Sustainability  (Erickson, 2022), which collects eleven projects developed by “Our School” Professors..

"We like ‘Our School,’ because it is an opportunity. It is an open network of contacts and connections, which changes shape and adapts to the context, a kind of "Barbapapa" of didactics," adds Cecilia choosing a very effective image, one well-known by those who work with children. "In an open context, there is no rivalry, only sharing the exchange of knowledge and skills which mutually enhances the contribution of each and all." At the end of the workshop, Cecilia Stajano recorded two brief audio contributions: in the first, you will listen to the voices of the two teachers, Claudia and Kim, while the second provides the opinions of some participants.

Happy listening!
