Webinar on “Early Childhood in the Post-Covid Era: Experiences, Reflections and Tools for Children Aged 0-3”

Introduction: Antonio Leandro, FP CGIL

Guest speaker: Roberto Maffeo, pedagogist

The lockdown meant that many young children had to spend much more time than usual with their families. Parents had the opportunity to provide them not only with a quality time, but with quantity, too. How will we face the reopening of structures for educating and curing young children? How can operators and educators manage the cure and care of babies and young children, whilst respecting social distancing?

The webinar is based on the initial experiences that are underway (the opening of kindergarten gardens and summer camps) to understand how it is possible to respect both health and educational protocols in the age of Covid. The second part of the course will address the role of digital tools and platforms in building relations that help to connect areas of growth and learning. These devices are tools that allow for relations, develop the mind and creativity and induce children to experiment with new languages. However, this will only work if the adult knows how to use them and can introduce the children to an intelligent, non-passive use of digital tools. The course is meant for educators of children aged 0-6 as part of the project on the development of a platform.
