A week of bridges and connections between generations and regions
From digital skills to new educational opportunities, from artificial intelligence to cyber security, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale’s week spans different regions, generations and areas of focus. Among the most significant events is the launch in Rome, in the San Basilio neighbourhood, of the project Il P.O.N.T.E. – Equal Opportunities in Educational Regions, a new alliance to tackle educational poverty amongst children, and the two regional meetings of the European Prodigy project, in Palermo and Reggio Calabria, dedicated to inclusion, training and employment [see the news item Skills to stay, grow and work].
There were three events featuring the Director-General Mirta Michilli: the ItalIA 2030 conference, organised by the Institute for Competitiveness (I-Com), focusing on infrastructure, skills and technologies for the country’s future; the Meta AI Forum, an opportunity to share new experiences of social innovation and intergenerational learning; and the presentation at the Casa del Cinema of Enrico Pulcini’s book, La fine della realtà. The Dark Side of Digital Information, to reflect on the transformations in information and our relationship with the digital reality.
Meanwhile, training activities for teachers, students and professionals continue: from the cybersecurity challenge at the University of Milan to the Experience AI courses, right through to the new PariPasso workshop, which brings robotics into maths teaching. The programme is rounded off by local events dedicated to digital citizenship and intergenerational dialogue.
