Winners of the "ChatSPOT: AI in Social Advertising" Hackathon

Over 100 students from upper secondary schools in Lazio participated in the "ChatSPOT: AI in Social Advertising" Hackathon, developing interactive stories produced through GenAI with a critical, ethical, and responsible approach. The event was held as part of Programme Ital.IA Lab with Microsoft Italia and in synergy with Project Coding Girls that, in ten editions, has worked to fight the gender gap in STEM.

Participating schools: Kant, Montessori, Da Vinci, Keplero, Montale and Matteucci (Rome).

The challenge: using all the skills and abilities acquired during the training course, you will have to design a social advertisement that raises young people's awareness on the conscious and responsible use of generative artificial intelligence. The advertising should therefore present the multiple opportunities provided by AI to solve global challenges and improve people's lives, but also highlight the impact that it can generate if used in an unfair, not transparent, and unethical manner. The product you will have to present is a video commercial. Create the story, the characters, the dialogue, and the setting using all of your creativity and GenAI tools!

Videospot message: Improve your future, improve the world. AI is in constant evolution and has the potential to revolutionise many fields, like medicine, agriculture, work, economics, and education. In particular, the use of AI by youth will have a significant impact on society and people’s lives. This ad aims to emphasise the importance of raising the awareness of youth on the social and ethical responsibilities connected to the use of AI.

Videospot message: the benefits of AI and the importance of raising awareness among young people on the topic. Our product narrates the story of a knight in the era of digitalisation. From the Middle Ages, he is catapulted into a remote future and must rediscover - thanks to the help of an android - a totally different reality. At the end of his odyssey, after having reviewed his prejudice, he accepts the positive consequences of AI and its use in daily life.
