Ital.IA Lab for School, webinar for teachers

How can we transform students from mere consumers of content into true authors of their own learning? This is the question at the heart of the webinar “From the textbook to the collaborative book”, scheduled for 23 March at 4.30 pm, promoted as part of the Ital.IA Lab for School programme, developed in partnership with Microsoft.

The session proposes a shift in teaching perspective: alongside individual study, it also involves the shared construction of knowledge. Using the cooperative Jigsaw methodology and the BookCreator platform, teachers will explore how to guide their class in creating a collaborative, multi-authored digital multimedia textbook.

A key role is also played by generative artificial intelligence. Thanks to tools such as Copilot, students organise content, rework information and compare different sources, developing critical thinking skills and autonomy. The teacher remains in charge of the process: selecting reliable sources, guiding the work and ensuring the informed use of AI as a learning aid.

The webinar will be led by Felicia Bitetti, a secondary school teacher and trainer who has been experimenting for years with innovative approaches to make teaching more inclusive and participatory. Her vision is clear: artificial intelligence does not replace human work, but enhances it. “Made with AI, not by AI” is the principle that guides her work in the classroom.

The event forms part of the wider Ital.IA Lab for School programme, which supports teachers and students in developing skills for the critical, creative and responsible use of artificial intelligence in educational contexts.
