ACCORD Serious Game

On May 10-12, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale will present Project “ACCORD – Attain Cultural Integration through COnflict Resolution skill development” at the Italian Festival of Applied Games.

RomeVideoGameLab 2019, which took place in the fabulous Rome Cinecittà Studios, was a special opportunity to present the active participation of the FMD in the development and promotion of local inclusive education.

Project ACCORD, funded by the Erasmus+, KA3 - Initiatives for policy innovation - Social Inclusion through Education, Training and Youth Programme – EACEA, is a perfect example of this. The objective is to train kindergarten and middle school teachers to constructively manage and resolve conflicts that can take place in the school context, providing them with the tools necessary to face cultural diversity in the classroom.

Experimental, interactive educational videogames are used to create, evaluate and upscale an integrated on-line practice that brings together conceptual material through a MOOC. In fact, the serious game permits teachers to provide students with practical and experiential learning.

The development of competences that are useful for mediation in difficult and tense situations amongst students from different cultural backgrounds and the awareness that cultural communication is fundamental to create positive learning environments.
