Amidst Games and Mysteries

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the Goethe-Institut are looking for teachers and students (aged 12-17) to test the prototype of an app they are developing as part of Erasmus+ Project “Knights of the European Grail.” The project is co-financed by the European Union [see news: Virtual Worlds at School and A Game for Learning].

The prototype of “Knights of the European Grail” provides a different approach to learning six European languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese), immerging students in a medieval environment to complete a mystery full of mission.

The on-line game includes cutting-edge technology such as AR and VR to allow students not only to learn a language, but also the culture and history of the various countries.

Are you interested in testing the new app?

If you wish to try the prototype and participate in its testing phase, using it in class or at home, write to corsi@mondodigitale.org specifying “knights” in the subject.

PROJECT PROFILE

Project knIghtS oF thE EuroPean Grail - Creating a Game-based Approach for Learning, which will last for 36 months through August 2023, is co-financed by the European Union (Erasmus+ KA2 Fund). The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is part of the strategic partnership.

The objective of the game is to develop and test a methodology for learning about a language and its culture through a game, to develop and test the efficiency of a serious game as an innovative pedagogical tool for teaching the language and culture of other countries.

The development of the game scenarios is an integral part of the storytelling course that involves teachers and students. The game includes elements of virtual reality and augmented reality, as well as on our common European history, and ranges in time from the Middle Ages to the present. The scenarios are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to allow the game to be used for language teaching and evaluation.
