Anassilaos Mimosa Award

The 26th edition of the Anassilaos Mimosa Award, promoted by the Anassilaos Association, is ideally dedicated to jurists, journalists teachers, female students and all the women who in these years have worked to promote their emancipation in Afghanistan and are now risking serious consequences.

The Anassilaos event, which has the patronage of the Regional Calabria Council and the Metropolitanc City and Council of Reggio Calabria, as well as the Circolo Polimeni, and the “IlSalotto dei Poeti,” “La Rosa nel Pozzo,” and “Phonè” cultural associations, will be held on Wednesday September 8 at 8:30 pm at the Polimeni “Circolo del Tennis.” The event is traditionally held on March 8, International Women’s Day, but was deferred due to the health emergency.

Giulia Melissari, who will receive the Mimosa award for her human and social promotion activities, works to contrast educational poverty and school dropout rates. She is an educator and the local coordinator for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale for Projects OpenSpace and School of Internet for Everyone.
