There currently are 16 billion interconnected devices in the world; by 2022, there will be 29 billion, 18 of which will be connected to the Internet of Things. By 2018, there will be more interconnected devices than mobile phones. This is just a few examples of the information provided in the new Ericsson Mobility Report, which also includes a special section on the Internet of Things.
Thanks to Project IoT at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym, which the FMD promotes with Cisco, over the course of two and a half years, 20,000 middle and high school students will have the opportunity to experientially acquire knowledges and competences that will be useful for their careers in the interconnected world. The lab will help them familiarize with new professional roles, such as Chief IoT Officer, a role that will soon become strategic in every enterprise.
