Fifty Awards

Last Friday, the Porta Futuro Job Centre in Bari held the awards ceremony for the best 50 students of Ambizione Italia for Youth, the educational programme promoted by Microsoft Italia and Fondazione Mondo Digitale and that also received support from Baker Hughes and Almaviva.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Technological Innovation Eugenio Di Sciascio: the Director of the “Porta Futuro” Servvice, Mina Bonante; the General Manager of Baker Hughes, Enrico Mangialardo: the Director of the Public Administration Division of Microsoft Italia, Stefano Stinchi and Almaviva Project Manager, Francesca Gasparro.

The students received 30 laptops and 20 tablets donated by Baker-Hughes and Almaviva.

The on-line course, which began in the autumn and was developed with the precious support of “Porta Futuro,” was attended by over 120 students, out of which the 50 awarded students were selected. These students stood out for skills improvement (scoring 80% or more on the final test) and attendance (minimum presence at 85% of the course hours).

The programme is organised into specific modules that address the specific needs of those seeking training, professional qualification or who simply wish to improve their digital skills (skilling, reskilling, upskilling). The project provides ongoing and custom-tailored education to face the challenges created by rapid changes on the labour market, which especially addresses youth and the most fragile categories of workers.

The programme, which is free, allowed the students to choose from three courses: an intermediate level digital marketing course, a basic level course for digital literacy, and an intermediate level course on multimedia communication.
