Covid-19 has also affected the web and the Postal Police has raised its attention levels because the diffusion of fake news can have negative effects on public health and correct institutional communications. In 2020, there was a 436% increase in reports (from 21 in 2019 to 134 in 2020), while alerts increased from 29 to 136, a 353% increase. Moreover, the Annual Report by the Postal and Telecommunications Police indicates that there were ca. 98,000 on-line frauds, even concerning the distribution of sanitary products including facemasks and disinfectant.

 

Digital entrepreneur Ornella Sprizzi will hold the upcoming session of Fully Enjoy the Internet dedicated to parents. The session will be held tomorrow, Thursday, April 15, on the Zoom Platform, to inform participants on how to verify the truthfulness of news and watch out for frauds, especially those related to the “infopandemic.”
