Two days of discussion on digital security and inclusion hosted by Virtual Routes

On Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 November, Fondazione Mondo Digitale will participate in the Annual Networking Event of the Google.org Cybersecurity Seminars programme, hosted by Virtual Routes in Paris. The event brings together universities, partners and organisations from Europe, the Middle East and Africa to share results, methodologies and future prospects on the topic of cybersecurity.

The two-day event will open with greetings from Virtual Routes and Google.org, followed by an introductory speech by Patrice Puichaud Duval, Head of Customer Engineering for Google Cloud Security EMEA. The first day will focus on the experiences of the universities involved, the presentation of the new AI Toolkit, testimonials from the international network of Global Cybersecurity Clinics and the success stories of academic teams. The agenda also includes an in-depth look at the mentorship programme promoted by Google.org and a session dedicated to lessons learned in thematic training activities.

The second day will feature three operational workshops - implementation of Local Cybersecurity Organisations, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and impact measurement - as well as a focus on Seminar resources and the Reach platform. The discussion will conclude with a plenary session of discussion and open questions.

In addition to the working sessions, the event also offers informal networking opportunities, such as the dinner on 18 November, designed to strengthen collaboration between the various players in the international network, with the common goal of developing institutional skills and capabilities for more inclusive cybersecurity oriented towards the public good.

Fondazione Mondo Digitale is participating in the Cybersecurity Seminars as the Italian partner in the programme, committed to strengthening digital security skills within academic communities and expanding access to quality training courses for students and researchers.

From tomorrow, Director General Mirta Michilli and Project Officer Miriam Pintore will be in Paris.

Silvia Salini, full professor of statistics, will participate on behalf of the University of Milan.
