There only are 50 young women amongst the 750 students at the Campobasso technical institute. The project to promote equal opportunities in the study of technical and scientific subjects addresses a very conservative area.
Project "STEM: Sarà Tutta Un'Estate Magica" allowed the Istituto tecnico per il settore tecnologico G. Marconi in Campobasso to win the "In estate si imparano le STEM" Call promoted by the Italian Ministry of Equal Opportunities. The original summer camp mainly addresses students at the Istituto comprensivo Colozza in Campobasso.
Upcoming appointments include a “warm up” webinar on STEM subjects held by Giorgia di Tommaso, a Coach at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym, on Monday, August 28 (9-11 am)
The “STEM: Sarà Tutta un’Estate Magica” Summer Camp, which addresses students aged 9-14 and takes place in the school’s labs, began during the first week of July and will end during the last week of August.
The five project phases are:
- “Warm Up” to experiment the importance of STEM subjects in daily life
- Physics and Chemistry Lab Experiences
- Coding with Scratch
- Robotics Lab with Lego Mindstorms
- Creation of promotional material
