A week in Mozambique with Coding Girls, Digital Embrace and ICT Employment Generation to strengthen training, entrepreneurship and digital inclusion
A strategic mission to Mozambique to strengthen ties, share results and look to the future of educational and digital cooperation.
From 19 to 24 May, project manager Ilaria Graziano and project officer Elisabetta Gramatica are in Maputo to participate in the final seminar of the Coding Girls in Mozambique project and to meet partners, institutions and young people involved in the three projects active in the area: Coding Girls in Mozambique, Digital Embrace and ICT Employment Generation.
Among the meetings on the agenda:
- a meeting with Handicap International, leader of the Digital Embrace project, which promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities through digital technologies and dedicated training
- a visit to the Machava HUB, one of the spaces created by ICT Employment Generation, where young entrepreneurs develop innovative ideas with a social impact
- two days of seminars to take stock of the Coding Girls Mozambique project, with a joint presentation by Ilaria and Elisabetta on the role of ICT training and incubators in female empowerment;
- a meeting with representatives of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) to share experiences and future developments.
There will also be opportunities for cultural discovery, such as the Mafalala Walking Tour and a visit to a community museum, created by a project of the Centre for Information and Education on Development (CIES), and direct contact with young startuppers active in the CIUEM and Machava hubs.
Three projects, one goal: to generate concrete opportunities for the younger generation and for women, building inclusive and sustainable professional and training pathways.
