The magazine Tecnica della scuola reports on the Make it Real project

STEM skills are no longer an option, but a necessity in an ever-changing job market. This awareness has led to the creation of Make it Real, a programme that combines training, prototyping and competition to introduce high school students to emerging technologies and entrepreneurial spirit.

As reported in an interview published in the school magazine Tecnica della Scuola, the project aims to involve 10,000 students throughout Italy, with a flexible programme that integrates:

  • webinars on artificial intelligence, creative coding, cloud computing, business models and storytelling
  • the use of innovative tools such as AWS's PartyRock
  • an intensive day of prototyping at the Palestra dell'Innovazione
  • a final event during the RomeCup 2026

But the strongest value emerges from the words of the teachers.

‘A project like this allows us to offer our young people valuable support in choosing their studies or school-work training after secondary school,’ explains Angelo Coccimiglio of the Giorgi high school in Milan.

He adds, ‘The students agreed to return to school in the afternoon, even from distant towns, to participate in the training. Then, at home, they continue on their own: they are very motivated,’ adds Marco Crosa of the Ferrari-Mercurino Institute in Gattinara.

Make IT Real is not just technical training: it is guidance, experimentation and autonomy. It is a concrete opportunity to transform an idea into a prototype, work in a team, engage with business mentors and test oneself in a real challenge.
