Google’s YouTube Kids provides families with a trove of “safe content” that is monitored at various levels both by parents and automatic systems [see: YouTube Kids è arrivato in Italia(in Italian)].

The Italian version, which can now be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store, includes content suitable for children that has been selected by a variety of partners, including theFondazione Mondo Digitale.

The Partners (Postal Police, National Anti-bullying Centre, “Leonardo da Vinci” National Science and Technology Museum) provide reliable content on four channels: ProgrammesMusicLearningand Exploration.

The graphic layout, which is fun and enticing, includes large images and icons that allow even smaller children to use the app. Moreover, the app has settings that allow parents to guide and control their children’s experience.

"Promoting safe and stimulating on-line and offline environments has always been one of our missions. And this is why we are very happy that YouTube Kids has arrived to Italy," explains Mirta Michilli, Director General of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. "Today, learning and finding information on-line is not only possible, but indispensable, especially for the younger generations that will be protagonists of the future technological and digital transformations.”
