How are the walls of historic houses built? Why does every earthquake cause the dramatic destruction of buildings and the loss of our historical heritage? At RomeCup 2019 (April 2-5), there will be a university orientation talk entitled "Earthquakes: Using Drones " dedicated to the transformation of the profession of civil engineering and its strategic role in the care of buildings. The appointment is at the “Rome Tre” University Department of Engineering on April 4 at 12.30.

Following the repeated seismic events that struck our country, there is an increasing awareness that historical constructions, especially those built out of rock in central Italy, are not adequate to today’s safety standards. There is a general mistrust towards traditional construction techniques, and many people feel that tearing them all down is the only possible solution. Is there a different alternative? Can we bring together security and the conservation of our historical heritage? Do we have the tools to conduct the necessary investigations and structural analyses that will provide us with a reliable answer on the seismic security of historical constructions? And, if necessary, how can we intervene on ancient buildings? Do we have technology that can guarantee their safety?

These are the questions that our community is asking of the scientific community after the many recent seismic events in central Italy. And the scientific community must provide a clear answer.
