ING Italia has been awarded the Diversity and Inclusion Prize for social sustainability and its impact on the local community, alongside the Fondazione Mondo Digitale
This recognition highlights both the project itself and the strength of a partnership built up over time. Yesterday, in Rome, as part of the D&I in Finance 2026 conference, ABI awarded ING Italia, for its Job Digital Lab project, the Diversity and Inclusion Award in the Social Sustainability and Local Impact category.
The project was recognised for its strong social mission and its tangible impact on employment and the development of digital skills, combined with an innovative, scalable format capable of actively engaging the internal community, generating widespread and measurable value over time.
The award was collected by Silvia Colombo, Head of External Communication & CSR at ING Italia, who was joined on stage by Mirta Michilli, Director General of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, a partner in the project.
The award comes in the first edition of the ABI ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ Award, created to recognise best practices among banks that help to make accessibility, equal opportunities, social responsibility, inclusive communication, local impact and skills development a reality. In this first edition, 64 projects were nominated, submitted by 39 banks, across 6 categories. The assessment was entrusted to two judging bodies, the Technical and Scientific Committee and the Jury, comprising members of the Advisory Boards of ABI’s Technical and Strategic Committees, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach.
Among over sixty nominated initiatives, Job Digital Lab stood out as an example of effective collaboration between the business sector and the third sector, capable of transforming innovation into tangible opportunities for individuals and communities.
Through Job Digital Lab, ING Italia and Fondazione Mondo Digitale have, over the years, built a programme that supports young people, women, jobseekers, workers and small business owners in developing the skills that are now essential for navigating the labour market and tackling the digital transformation with greater awareness. It is a programme that combines training, inclusion, empowerment and a focus on local communities, with a practical, accessible and replicable approach.
The award confirms the strength of a model that puts people at the centre and recognises the value of educational and social partnerships. For Fondazione Mondo Digitale, it is also recognition of the collaborative work carried out with partners who choose to invest in initiatives capable of generating impact, strengthening skills and expanding opportunities.
At a time when digital and social transitions demand increasingly integrated responses, Job Digital Lab demonstrates how innovation and inclusion can go hand in hand, producing measurable results and shared value over time.
