Breaking Barriers: free webinars for parents with experts from the Postal Police

Sextortion, cyberbullying, online grooming: growing phenomena that increasingly involve even the youngest children. It is essential to build awareness and learn to recognise digital risks in order to deal with them in the right way.

A recent report by the OECD (How's Life for Children in the Digital Age, 2025) highlights how digital technologies are now an integral part of children's lives, offering extraordinary opportunities for learning and socialising but also significant risks to their physical and psychological well-being. According to the organisation, “prohibition is not enough”: education, support for families and the development of critical skills to navigate a complex digital environment are needed.

To meet this need, we are offering a new series of free online meetings in collaboration with the Polizia Postale (Italian Postal Police), involving experts who are engaged on a daily basis in the prevention and combating of cybercrime. The first executive Barbara Strappato and commissioners Federica Bensi and Tania Pellegrini will speak about real cases, explain the most subtle threats and provide concrete tools to protect children.

For parents of children aged 6-14
25 July, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
The meeting will analyse emerging phenomena reported on the official website of the Postal Police, including sharenting, the uncontrolled sharing of images and information about children.

For parents of teenagers aged 14-18
29 July, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
In addition to prevention, there will be a focus on guidance: how cyber security can become an opportunity for growth and a possible career for the younger generation.

The Bank of Italy itself, in its survey of Italian families, found that the use of artificial intelligence and digital tools is growing especially among young people, particularly in the education and technical professions, opening up new prospects for the jobs of tomorrow.

Prevention, awareness, guidance: together we can help young people navigate the internet more safely and responsibly, building the digital skills they need for their future, starting today.
