Understanding generative AI beyond the clichés

Understanding generative AI beyond the clichés

New session in the Job Digital Lab webinar series

The webinar series organised by Job Digital Lab continues. This programme, promoted by Fondazione Mondo Digitale and ING Italia, has been supporting students, young people, professionals and small businesses since 2017 in developing the skills needed to navigate and thrive in the job market.

The next session is scheduled for today, Thursday 23 April at 2.30 pm, with Elisa Chierchiello, who will lead the online session “Generative AI: how it really works”.

Generative AI is becoming increasingly integrated into everyday study and work processes, from text and images to data analysis. Yet, enthusiasm, oversimplifications and many misconceptions continue to circulate around these technologies. Hence the need to better understand how they work. The aim is to help participants move beyond oversimplifications and recurring myths, acquiring useful tools to interpret more critically one of the technologies having the greatest impact on the present and future of work.

Starting with the basics, the session explores the workings of language models, the role of datasets and the main limitations of generative AI. A central part of the webinar is also dedicated to reflecting on the very concept of intelligence: what it means when applied to machines and what differences remain compared to human intelligence.

The event is therefore intended not only as an informative session, but as a training opportunity to develop a critical perspective on the outputs generated by AI, strengthening the ability to evaluate, interpret and use digital tools responsibly.

The webinars by Job Digital Lab offer free online training courses dedicated to the development of digital and transferable skills useful for work and entrepreneurship. Through themed sessions with experts, professionals and trainers, participants can explore tools, strategies and opportunities related to digital transformation, from artificial intelligence to digital marketing, from online communication to skills for self-employment.
