Featuring the results of the needs analysis and new programmes for primary schools
On 26 and 27 September, in Naples, Fondazione Mondo Digitale will present the results of the needs analysis carried out with the school community, along with new training programmes designed for primary schools.
Questions about the body, relationships, boundaries and differences are already present in primary schools. They arise during lessons, in conflicts between peers, when facing physical changes and in the everyday use of digital media. To support children, we need well-trained adults, age-appropriate language and shared points of reference between school and family. It is from this awareness that the contribution the Fondazione Mondo Digitale will make to the twelfth edition of ‘Educating on Differences’ takes shape, scheduled for 26 and 27 September 2026 at the Alfonso Casanova secondary school in Naples.
Spark was born from listening to schools
In the Piazza area, dedicated to posters, educational tools and projects, we will present “Spark. Building confidence and skills within the school community: from research to training”. Spark [Igniting the confidence and capacity of school leaders, teachers and parents in providing quality Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)] is a European project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, bringing together eight partners across five countries. The aim is to strengthen the skills and confidence of teachers, trainee teachers, school leaders and parents in relation to education on relationships and emotional well-being. The poster will illustrate how research conducted with school communities has guided the development of training programmes and practical resources, which are evidence-based and adaptable to different contexts. The testimonies gathered show that adults recognise the urgency of addressing these issues, alongside a strong demand for training and support.
From research to training
The findings of the analysis are being incorporated into the Spark courses, which are due to start in autumn 2026. The Spark courses help teachers to understand Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), translate it into teaching practice and build alliances within the school community; they prepare students studying Primary Education to address these issues in their future professional roles; they support school leaders in guiding CSE and coordinating its implementation within the school; and they offer parents age-appropriate language and tools to promote education on relationships and emotional well-being at home. The offering is complemented by the Teaching Resource Bank, a collection of multimedia materials specifically selected to support the training.
