In the coming months, Google will launch the beta version of a new feature to allow parents to provide their children with access to YouTube through a supervised account.
The supervised experience includes three levels of settings to control content and functions for pre-adolescents and adolescents:
- Explore – for children ready to graduate from YouTube Kids and explore content on YouTube. It includes a wide range of videos that are suitable for children aged 9 and up, such as vlogs, tutorials, gaming videos, music videos, news, didactic content and more.
- Explore Other – with content for viewers aged 13 and up. It includes a wider selection of videos, as well as live streaming, in the same categories as “Explore.”
- Most of YouTube – includes nearly all videos on YouTube, except for age-restricted content and sensitive issues that could only be suitable to older individuals.
