The guide for teachers and the challenge of a “school of us”
Artificial intelligence has already entered our schools, but its value depends on how it is used.
With the new Guide to the use of AI in schools, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale offers teachers a tool to navigate a time of profound change, accompanying technological transformation with an educational and social vision.
The guide, which can be downloaded from the Educational Resources section, is the result of the Foundation's research and training experience and is part of a broader programme that also includes a national policy on the educational use of AI, a summary infographic, and a series of training courses and webinars dedicated to teachers.
As Alfonso Molina, the Foundation's scientific director, points out, ‘we are not dealing with a simple tool to be integrated, but with a transformation that touches on the very nature of education: the way we learn, teach, build communities and cultivate relationships’.
AI can only become a lever for social innovation if it is rooted in educational communities, strengthening collaboration between teachers, students, families and local areas. It is with this in mind that the Foundation promotes the school of us, a network of teachers, managers and trainers committed to sharing best practices, developing new skills and putting technology at the service of the common good.
