The Diga project in Padua, a sustainable ecosystem for training and guidance
The DIGA project. Sustainable ecosystem for training and guidance, selected and supported by the Fund for the Digital Republic Social Enterprise (Polaris call for proposals) and coordinated by the Mondo Digitale Foundation, has also been successfully launched in the Padua area.
The educational workshops at schools in Padua began in September 2025, first at the Enrico Fermi scientific high school from the 2nd to the 8th, and then at the Ippolito Nievo scientific high school from the 22nd to the 26th.
Focus on life sciences and engineering
The thematic focus for the Padua area is linked to Life Sciences, carried out by the Department of Information Engineering (DEI) of the University of Padua, one of the four university departments partnering in the project at national level.
In class, students participated in practical workshops specially designed by DEI professors and researchers. The activities covered a wide range of advanced engineering disciplines:
- Computer engineering
- Electronic engineering
- Telecommunications engineering
- Bioengineering
- Automation and systems engineering
These courses aim to enhance STEM skills and help students make informed choices about their future in these highly sought-after sectors.
An ecosystem for the future
The DIGA project involves a total of 1,800 students in four Italian cities (Padua, Rome, Milan and Turin) with the aim of creating an innovative ecosystem that connects schools, universities and the local area.
The main objectives of the project include:
- Bringing young people closer to STEM disciplines
- Supporting female talent in the scientific and technological fields
- Reducing the mismatch between labour supply and demand
- Accompanying the digital transition with inclusive and sustainability-oriented actions
- Promoting educational innovation and connections between different actors in the local area.
Participation in the project's activities is free of charge.
