Give voice to your neighbourhood

Today at Villa Lazzaroni, young people tell the story of their local area through art

The final event of the art contest “Dai voce al tuo quartiere” (Give voice to your neighbourhood) is taking place today at the theatre in Villa Lazzaroni. The contest was promoted as part of the Peer Sharing – Comunità diffusa (Peer Sharing – Widespread Community) project, selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund to combat child educational poverty. It is a special opportunity to showcase the talent and creativity of young people from Municipio VII, who are the protagonists of a journey that combines art, citizenship and the local area.

The contest involved girls and boys aged between 12 and 18, who were invited to express their views on the neighbourhood where they live through a performance. The works, prepared between November 2024 and April 2025, are being presented today on the stage of Villa Lazzaroni, with the involvement of families, educators, associations and local institutions.

The organisations that took part in the project are:

  • Isola dell'Arte, a school of visual arts, acting and music
  • Ponte Linari, a music school active in promoting well-being through art
  • Teatrocittà, a regenerated space dedicated to theatre as a social tool
  • ANPI Nido di Vespe, guardian of anti-fascist memory and promoter of cultural initiatives
  • Biblioteca dello Statuario, a voluntary reading and knowledge centre
  • Four Dance. Multidisciplinary Arts Centre, a reference point for artists and teachers in the area

Today, the initiative rewards the most significant performances, selected for their originality and ability to authentically express the experiences and visions of the younger generation. It is an opportunity for celebration and sharing that closes a year of work with and for the educational community.

The Peer Sharing project, coordinated by ForumSaD and implemented with a network of 13 partners, aims to strengthen educational ties in Municipio VII, creating spaces where young people can express themselves, experiment and participate as protagonists in the cultural and social life of their neighbourhood.
